Saturn enters Capricorn on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 8:49 pm PST.  Capricorn is Saturn’s home sign.  He hasn’t been home in thirty years making this a true homecoming.  Saturn is all about structure.  In your own life, what structures do you long to come home to?  Oftentimes things just are the way they are and we don’t have much control over outcomes.  With Saturn in its home sign please feel free to use this energy to change course, and may I recommend taking the helm on this because if you don’t make the conscious choice to change course Saturn will do it for you.  Saturn and Capricorn live in the 10th House, the house of career, or what Astrologer Steven Forrest refers to as the House of your “mission statement”.  Take the next three years to refine what your mission statement is for your outer world experience.  Also, when things are looking bleak (and at times they definitely will during this transit) grab some crystals and go to the mountains for inspiration.  Saturn and Capricorn rule both.

Aries!  The next three years are going to be (sing it with me), “Work, work, work, work, work,” for you.  With Saturn in its home sign of Capricorn the planet is so ready to get to the task at hand, the one you’ve been dreaming, planning, and scheming about since the end of 2014.  Remember Aries, the climb may feel long at times, but just because there isn’t instant gratification, it doesn’t mean you have to burn out.  Restructure the idea of “instant gratification” to mean things you’re instantly grateful for in your life.  This will give you the courage to continue toward your goals in the area of work, career, and legacy in your life.  It also doesn’t hurt to turn Rihanna up real loud and have a daily dance party.  Stay on the course, pepper in bursts of gratitude, dance parties, and other fun things that keep your energy going, and when you reach your goals, you’ll marvel at the party you had while getting there.

Taurus, you find yourself in a very interesting predicament.  Saturn is entering the sign of Capricorn, the sign of work, structure, and facing reality in your 9th House, the house of fiery energy, philosophical concepts, and world travel.  The image coming to me is a snowy mountain on fire.  Climb the mountain, it’s going to be an adventurous quest.  Your goal is to reach the top to put out the fire.  When you get there the angst you felt that motivated you to go on the quest in the first place will have left your body.  A sense of calmness will reign.  You’ll enjoy the quest Taurus, you always remember to stop and marvel at the flowers growing through the snow.  Some may think you’re moving too slow, but you know that being present in the moment gives you more information to pull from when the time is right, and right now, the time is right!

Gemini, it’s time to get out the Tarot cards and start making money because Saturn is coming into your 8th House of the occult, and other people’s money.  Maybe you start working the party circuit with your Tarot cards.  Maybe you learn about Tarot cards and draw a card each day as you start your new business.  Let the images guide you to work with the energy of the cosmos.  Saturn is all about work.  The planet doesn’t care if you work yourself to the bone as long as you accomplish the goal.  Remember the importance of setting the tone of the structure of projects.  Work with the daily energy for the next three years.  You’ll still be tired from all the work you put in at the end of it all, but you’ll still have the enthusiasm to bask in the glory of tasks completed.

Cancer, with Saturn entering your 7th House you are putting a new type of structure around your closest relationships.  Do you know what that means?  There are wedding bells in the air!  Now is the time to commit to those one-on-one relationships in your life.  Your lover(s), friends, and any relationship where you sit down across from someone and talk.  Cancer, you know to intuit based on the emotions that rise from your body.  Make sure to really listen to these feeling for the next three years.  You know that prosperous relationships take work.  Knowing the energy around these relationships keeps you ahead of the curve and can lead to meaningful conversations that smooth out misunderstandings and better the lives of both parties.

Leo, Saturn is in a very exciting placement for you, your 6th House of daily work.  This may mean a change in the way you come to work each day, a new job, a promotion, change of work location.  Make sure the changes you make support your ability to work hard.  With Saturn in Capricorn there’s going to be a lot of hard work, Saturn doesn’t really care if the hard work you do runs you into the ground, or gives you a good satisfying sweat like after the best aerobics class of your life, so make sure the work you’re doing supports your need to perform and to shine in a sustainable way.  The 6th House is also about health and your body (things that must be maintained every day for the highest function).  Use this to your advantage to really get into that routine you’ve been wanting for your body.  Don’t feel bad about wanting to treat your body really well Leo.  You’re a born performer, and the better you treat your body the better able your ability to show up for others.  People may think your need to perform and concern with your appearance is for selfish reasons when in reality it’s a desire to be pleasing to others.  Think of how well movie stars take care of their bodies, it’s become like a full-time job in the industry.  Also think of a time when a performance by an actor really moved you to a point of healing.  Don’t shy away from bringing this type of healing to all of us Leo in the way you show up with your energy and the work you produce each day.

Virgo, Saturn will be entering your 5th House for the next 3 years.  This is a great time to bring structure to your creative endeavor in whatever form that may be- choosing to do it every day for 10 minutes, starting to make money from it, putting it out into the world for all to witness, it’s your call, but honor Saturn by making the choice for your creativity to flourish, it yearns to.  This is also a great time to “put a ring on it” in some shape or form.  The 5th house is the place of love affairs and with Saturn entering the house it’s asking you to bring structure to this love.  This could be moving in together, getting engaged, getting married, or even deciding on what you call your partner when you introduce them to friends and relatives.  With Saturn representing parental energy in the 5th house of children also prepare to become a parent in some way in your life, or having a parental figure become more attentive to you.  For the past three years Saturn has been traveling through your 4th House of home and foundation in Sagittarius, the sign of ideas and truths.  Virgo, you’re now clear about how you want your foundation and home to look, it’s time to go make it real over the next few years.  Virgo, you love details, let the details guide you, Saturn, like you, is a hard worker no matter what.  Don’t fall into the trap of working hard with your head down and looking up in three years to be somewhere you don’t even desire, a place that just happened to be what your parents/society/friends wanted for you.  Look for signs in the details and you will keep you and Saturn right on track.

Libra with your airy nature you’re full of ideas and ideals, oftentimes involving others, you’re a creature of the group.  Saturn moving into Capricorn is happening in your 4th House, the house of foundation and home.  This is a great time for you to ground into what makes you thrive. Appropriately enough, this house is found at the very bottom of the zodiac.  Saturn is the ruler of crystals.  I like astrologer Kathy Biel’s description of “a glittering cave of crystals” to describe this placement.  Since it’s in Capricorn let’s put this cave on the side of a mountain.  Libra, you love a party, but now’s the time to be discerning about who you let into your cave.  Who will respect the crystals?  This may be a time where you are finding a cave for yourself in the waking world.  What types of structures are you putting over your head?  Make sure they’re sturdy, things can be a little bleak with Saturn in its snowy mountain home.  Remember all of Saturn’s rings are made up of frozen ice, you need to protect yourself in the same way Libra.  It may be hard at first, and you feel like you’re closing yourself off, but what happens after you put up the protective layer is that you figure out who you truly want to get warm and cozy with in your cave and when.  The initial guard makes life much smoother later on.  This sets the stage for other things you may want to welcome into your life like your chosen family, love, romance, and children.  Now that you’ve set your boundaries, take your pick, the choice is all yours.

Scorpio, Saturn is taking a trip through your 3rd House for the next three years.  This is a great time to build community.  It may be a good three years to unplug from technology and connect with the people you consider to be your brothers and sisters.  That said, maybe the best way to connect with others is through the internet.  We’ll have to see where the Net Neutrality situation takes us, either way, make sure to connect, and make sure it’s authentic.  You may find yourself driving a lot for work these next three years.  Take lots of audio books with you and learn about something completely new.  Sometimes the work is soaking up as much knowledge as possible from a book someone else wrote, and sometimes the work is writing.  Scorpio, now is the time to write your novel, blog, horoscope column, or all of the above.  It’s your job these next three years to tell the story we’re all longing to hear.

Take a deep breath Sagittarius.  These past three years have been big for you.  You’ve had your Saturn return, maybe your first, maybe your second, or maybe your third!  When Saturn passes over the natal Saturn in your chart it gives you new work.  The past three years may have brought big changes, heck, these past few weeks may have brought, huge, life altering changes.  As Saturn comes into Capricorn in your 2nd house there’s no going back.  The new assignment has been made.  Capricorn is all about taking all the new ideas you’ve been inspired by in the past three years and making them reality.  With this happening in the 4th House this has to do with your home and foundation.  What has been your rock in life?  Does it need to change?  Is this a time when you move away from something you’ve depended on and become your own rock?  It’s a tall order, and many don’t answer the call, but you’ve come this far.  You’ve been tested and know that if Saturn can’t stop you then really, nothing will.  Trust your emotions, and create the foundation of your dreams.

Capricorn, Capricorn, Capricorn.  Welcome to your Saturn Return.  This is going to be a big three years for you Capricorn.  You’ve been working hard, as you do, for the last 28 to 30 years, and Saturn is about to test you on the fruits of your labor.  Things are about to change, and will never be the same.  Listen to Saturn and take the assignment.  Have the courage to take it on, one of the noblest things you can do in this life is take on the tasks Saturn delivers with gusto.  As astrologer, and fellow Capricorn, Steven Forrest says, “You’ll be exhausted,” but you’ll also be satisfied.  Get ready for big shifts in all areas of your life.  Now is the time to really reflect, and act on those feelings of discontent that may have been bubbling for the past few years.  Act on them before Saturn does, the energy is with you.  You may have flashes of inspiration about how you want your life to go, and how things aren’t working, almost like rocks hitting you on the head out of nowhere.  It may seem startling, but part of your job is to embrace this as a time of trailblazing.  You have a whole lifetime of experience Capricorn, go forth, and find out what the next part of your legacy is meant to be.

Aquarius, for the next three years Saturn is moving through your 12th House of secrets and things you’re afraid of, preparing you for when your Saturn return comes in 2020.  Fear not Aquarius, as you’re very equipped to handle the work assignment Saturn is about to give you.  Your scientific mind gives you the ability to have great discernment about what matters and what doesn’t.  This will give you the ability to know in your gut when to rebel and when to fall in line for the betterment of the group.  This will often have to do with institutions for the next three years.  Aquarius now is the time to work toward that you’ve always desired but was a little too afraid to go after.  Your intuition is high these next three years.  You may not be used to following your heart, but if there was ever a time, now is it!  The more work and discernment you put in toward becoming the person you want to be, the readier you’ll be for your Saturn return.  Take a crack at the challenge, be brave!

Pisces, Saturn is entering your 11th House of groups for the next three years.  This may feel like a heavy challenge for you Pisces.  You enjoy being quiet you join and leave the group as you please, no pressure of commitment.  Well Pisces, your job for the next three years is to find the groups that are worth committing too.  They can be groups from any other area of the zodiac- hobby groups, creative groups, work groups, family groups.  You just need to commit and contribute.  This is also a great time to find an organization to volunteer your time and money too.  Again, think of a cause that’s close to your heart and the Universe will show you ways to be of service.  Fear not Pisces!  You still need your rest and alone time, but see as you commit yourself to groups and causes you truly believe in and want to be a part of if those recuperation times grow smaller, and are more nourishing as well.
